On Sunday, 23 October, the students of the IBDP CAS Program took part in the Ironman 70.3 triathlon race in Vouliagmeni, as volunteers. Their contribution was valuable, not only because they met at 7:30 in the morning to organize their station, but also to cheer on our colleague and IBDP math teacher Mr. Marinos Papadopoulos as well as our High School Principal Mr. Panagiotis Vrodos, who participated as athletes.
The involvement of our students-volunteers really made a difference. Throughout the race they managed to maintain the cleanest station, a fact confirmed to us by the race manager. They also remained in place under difficult conditions, due to the high temperatures, until the end of the race and until they collected the last trash for recycling.
Most of all, however, they deserve the greatest reward since for all these hours and with undiminished passion, they cheered up and helped all the athletes, from the first to the last.
Moments like these are the ones that last forever. We experience such moments in the IBDP CAS Programme of Geitonas School.
