Environmental Group "Green Neighborhood (Green Geitonia)"
Our environmental group “Green Geitonia” (“Green Neighborhood”) is based on our Secondary School students’ voluntary participation. It aims towards providing our members with useful knowledge regarding the natural world, informing our classmates and friends -within and outside school- on contemporary issues with regard to the environment and nurturing environmental awareness.
The members of our group participate in beach cleanups, tree planting programs, prepare and distribute environmental informative material in school, support and promote actions such as recycling, rational use of energy etc.
During the group meetings, which take place on a weekly basis at recess, members discuss and coordinate their actions, put forth ideas and prepare/ organize their activities.
