We wholeheartedly congratulate our IBDP1 student Andreas Lampiris for his great achievement in the FIRST Robotics competition (https://www.firstinspires.org/robotics/frc). Andreas along with his team, the Inventors, won 2nd place out of 80 teams that participated in the Semi- Finals held in Thessaloniki, on the 8th and 9th March 2025.
Our IB Physics students had an incredible experience at the "Introduction to Basic Concepts and Principles of Quantum Mechanics" exhibition at the Eugenides Foundation! They dived into the fascinating world of atoms, wave-particle duality, and quantum superposition, gaining a deeper understanding of the science that shapes modern technology.

Τα Εκπαιδευτήρια Γείτονα οργανώνουν, το Σάββατο 22 Φεβρουαρίου 2025 (ώρα 9:00-13:00), Ημερίδα Ενημέρωσης (Open Day) για το πρόγραμμα του International Baccalaureate. Η Ενημερωτική Ημερίδα (Open Day) θα πραγματοποιηθεί στον χώρο των Εκπαιδευτηρίων Γείτονα και απευθύνεται σε μαθητές-μαθήτριες και γονείς του σχολείου μας αλλά και άλλων σχολείων που ενδιαφέρονται να πληροφορηθούν αναλυτικά για το International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. On Sunday, 1 December, our IBDP students had a unique experience at the exhibition "Dalí: Cybernetics" featuring Salvador Dalí's works inspired by the wonders of science!
On Friday the 22nd of November, a group of 30 students and 7 teachers of the IBDP1 class of Geitonas School enjoyed a one-day environmental trip to Mount Parnitha National Park organized by Trekking Hellas, a specialist in outdoor activity programmes. Having Bafi Shelter as our base, we hiked in the forest, led by experienced guides, who helped us discover the rich flora and fauna of the highest mountain in Attiki. We combined hiking with team building games, which promoted bonding and team spirit within the group of students and teachers. It was a fulfilling experience close to nature, for all of us!
On Wednesday 13th November 2024, our school hosted a special event to celebrate the achievements of our IB2 students in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Core components: Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS), Theory of Knowledge (TOK), and the Extended Essay of the students. The students had the opportunity to talk to the whole IB community, i.e. students, teachers and parents, about their experiences and the insights they have gained throughout this challenging journey. There has also been an exhibition of artwork created by the Visual Arts students of the IBDP department.
On Tuesday, 22 October 2024, our IBDP1 CAS students had an inspiring visit to the Stavros Niarchos Cultural Center.
We are pleased to share that the collaboration of our IBDP department with Gradia, Jyväskylän Lyseon lukio IB World School in Finland has been further enhanced this year by hosting one more group of Finnish educators, who visited our school from 22nd to 28th of September. During their visit, our Finnish peers had the opportunity to observe classes, exchange ideas and good practices with our teachers as well as visit famous cultural sites in Athens.
On Saturday 21st of September, a group of IB1 & IB2 students, parents and teachers visited the 52nd Book Festival at Pedion Areos in the centre of Athens. Recognized as the largest celebratory event in the book industry, it attracts book lovers and new readers every year, bringing them into contact with publishers and authors offering them the chance to attend cultural events and participate into interactive educational activities.
The Geitonas School IB DP Arts Exhibition 2024, held by the IB DP senior students taking Visual Arts and Music courses took place at the renowned Blender Gallery in Glyfada on April 11-13, 2024 with great success!
